Let me share five words that you could use to increase your vocabulary. Ready? Word number one is Intransigent. Intransigent means something that is firm, uncompromising and unwilling to change. For example, if you said “His intransigent attitude only led to further arguments” then that means his stubbornness caused the problem to continue. Word number two is Propound. Propound means to present or suggest an opinion or theory. For example, if you said “He propounded that the only solution was to take drastic action” then that means he suggested the solution. Word number three is Discourse. Discourse means a conversation or discussion, either verbal or written. For example, if you said “The discourse between the two sides was very intense” then that means the two sides had a very emotional talk. .Word number four is Concomitant. Concomitant means something that goes along or is connected with another thing. For example, if you said “The concomitant effects of the policy were far reaching” then that means the policy had a lot of related side effects. Word number five is Perfunctory. Perfunctory means something done in a careless way without proper attention or thought. For example, if you said “He performed his duties in a perfunctory manner” then that means he did his job without really putting in any effort. So there you have it!
